MTF and Security

Armed Foundation response

Mobile Task Force units and site Security are the primary human gunline in SCP retroBreach. You spawn with real rifles, grenades on some kits, and orders that mix recontainment, VIP rescue, and elimination of Chaos Insurgency plus playable SCPs. Soft Foundation staff and reforming Class-D stories exist around you—do not shoot allies because the lobby is loud.

Security versus MTF cadence

Security often starts inside the facility and contests early LCZ riots. You stabilize checkpoints, lock armories, and delay SCP snowballs before outside teams arrive.

MTF frequently reinforces from surface positions such as Gate B approaches, especially in Council Rescue style timings. That late entry means SCPs may already roam HCZ—land as a stack, not as scattered heroes.

Specialist branches matter: Eta-style NVG / SCRAM operators counter SCP-096 and SCP-966; Epsilon-9 style kits mitigate SCP-457 burn. Learn your unit tools before you waste battery on empty halls.

Loadout priorities

Prefer S-tier primaries from the weapons tier list: HK416 and FAMAS for mid control, Saiga-12 for door holds. XM8 and AKM remain excellent A-tier backups. Desert Eagle is a sidearm flex; Makarov is a cry for help.

Carry spare magazines—many guns start with multiple reserves, but M249-style support weapons can be stingy. Reload behind cover while a teammate watches SCP-173.

Recontainment playbook

  1. Secure LCZ armories so Class-D cannot climb the gun ladder.
  2. Sweep SCP-914 before Chaos Insurgency farms upgrades.
  3. Enter HCZ with a watcher for SCP-173 and a plan for SCP-106 flanks.
  4. Save NVG charge for confirmed SCP-096 / SCP-966 contact.
  5. Hold EZ / Gate B against CI extracts without tunnel vision—GOC may appear as a third party.

Serpent’s Hand supporting anomalies turns “clear this hall” into a two-front fight. Re-check nameplates.

SCP matchups for shooters

SCP-173 — Constant vision, open rooms, staggered reloads.
SCP-049 — Delete zombies first, keep melee range sacred.
SCP-096 — Optics discipline; never ego-peek faces.
SCP-106 — Keep health high; do not let wounded stragglers walk into grab range.
SCP-457 — Break raycast angles with doors; let reduced-burn kits lead.
SCP-966 — Battery management; short confirmation glances.

Fighting Chaos Insurgency and GOC

CI wants living Class-D. Deny escorts by controlling surface tunnels and cutting LCZ runners before they link up. Frag and flash utility on reinforcement kits can break stacked rifles—use them on Gate B chokepoints, not randomly in empty EZ.

GOC may help delete SCPs and still shoot you afterward. Treat uncertain friendlies as dangerous until proven.

Council Rescue notes

When O5 rescue is the brief, Desert Eagle fantasy loadouts and Level 5 card logistics show up. MTF spawning at Gate B can feel late versus early SCP releases—play for link-ups, not solo warhead tourism. Clear LCZ only as needed to reach the package; vanity loot loses the mode.

Communication templates

  • “173 on stairs, watcher set.”
  • “096 face contact, break LOS.”
  • “106 HCZ catwalk, wounded fall back.”
  • “CI Gate B, hold left tunnel.”
  • “Need Level 4 for checkpoint.”

Short calls beat essays while Saiga-12 pellets fly.

Common MTF failures

Trickling in one-by-one from the surface. Burning all NVG battery on decoration. Ignoring Class-D with stolen HK416s. Over-chasing Serpent’s Hand into SCP-106 loops. Leaving Foundation personnel alone with the only Level 5 card.

Training path

Main Security until you can clear LCZ without feeding SCPs. Then take MTF reinforcement rounds focused only on Gate B discipline. Alternate with a Class-D session so you respect escape routes you must cut. Finish by reading Chaos Insurgency to predict escort paths.

TIX cosmetics on your operator look sharp in screenshots; they still do not stop SCP-173. Skill and stacking do.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for SCP retroBreach players.

What is the difference between Security and MTF?

Security usually contests the facility early from inside; MTF often reinforces from surface entries like Gate B with heavier recontainment focus.

Which guns should MTF prioritize?

HK416, FAMAS, and Saiga-12 lead most fights. Keep Desert Eagle as a secondary, not your only plan.

How do NVGs help?

Specialist optics help track or mitigate SCP-966 and SCP-096 threats, but batteries drain—use them for confirmed contacts.

Should MTF always kill Class-D?

In standard breach rules, hostile Class-D are threats—especially armed ones—but mode briefs and team tickets can change priority. Clear SCPs that wipe everyone first when needed.

How do we play Gate B?

Arrive as a stack, assign SCP watchers, hold tunnels against CI, and share keycards instead of solo peeking every angle.

Is GOC on my team?

Not reliably. GOC hunts anomalies and may fire on other humans—identify before celebrating a friendly spawn.
