Faction warfare inside the site

SCP retroBreach splits every lobby into competing operational groups. You might spawn as disposable Class-D, cautious Foundation personnel, armed MTF and Security, disruptive Chaos Insurgency, or a playable SCP anomaly. Side waves can introduce Serpent’s Hand allies for the anomalous side and GOC strike teams that neutralize almost everyone. When those factions spawn, read the GOC and Serpent’s Hand guide for identification, target priority, and why they flip stalemates. This hub orients you before you dive into each detailed guide.

Modes rotate among Containment Breach, Class-D Riot, and Council Rescue. Objectives change, but geography stays familiar: LCZ for early loot and SCP-914, HCZ for heavy chambers and SCP-106 pressure, EZ for Gates and surface routes including Gate B. Bring the right keycards and check the weapons tier list so your faction kit matches the fight.

Serpent’s Hand often favors anomalies. GOC arrives as a wild card—expect them to shoot SCPs and uncooperative humans alike.

How to choose a focus

New players should learn Class-D routes first. Escaping teaches LCZ layouts, checkpoint keycards, and why Gate B stacks matter. Next, play Security under MTF and Security to feel the other side of the same corridors. Only then main playable SCPs so you understand human panic patterns.

If you prefer rifle gunfights, Chaos Insurgency and MTF deliver the cleanest FPS fantasy. If you prefer horror power fantasy, anomalies from the SCP tier list—especially SCP-106 and SCP-096—define the meta.

Shared systems every faction touches

Keycards gate progress. A Level 1 card opens soft LCZ doors; mid levels clear checkpoints; high levels unlock warhead and command spaces. Details live on the keycards page.

Guns decide human duels. Saiga-12, FAMAS, HK416, XM8, AKM, AKS-74U, Makarov, and Desert Eagle all appear in the current pool—see weapons and the weapons tier list.

TIX buys cosmetic skins only. Do not confuse shop flex with combat power.

SCP-914 upgrades items when you control the machine room. Factions that ignore 914 fall behind on cards and guns.

Mode primers

Containment Breach — Classic chaos: SCPs free, Class-D flee, MTF reinforce, CI contest extractions prisoners.

Class-D Riot — Prisoner aggression spikes; Security must lock down LCZ before anomalies and escapes snowball.

Council Rescue — O5-focused pressure with Desert Eagle fantasy loadouts and Gate B timing quirks; MTF may enter from surface positions while SCPs leak early.

Read each faction page for spawn notes, then return here when you swap roles mid-session.

Teamshot etiquette

Call SCP-096 face contact. Announce SCP-173 blink risk. Ping SCP-106 pocket victims. Share Level 4+ cards instead of hoarding while teammates die at locked doors. Chaos Insurgency should escort living Class-D rather than farm them for ego kills. Foundation staff without guns should follow armed Security instead of solo peeking HCZ.

GOC and Serpent’s Hand spawns can flip a stalemate—re-identify name tags before you dump a full HK416 mag into a possible ally. Spawn timing, loadouts, and who they shoot first are covered on the GOC and Serpent’s Hand page.

Where to go next

Master factions first; tier lists second. A B-tier gun on a coordinated MTF stack still beats an S-tier Saiga-12 on a lost Class-D who never leaves Light Containment.
